18/03/2025
When you find your dream rental property, you want to be first to sign on the dotted line. We’ve put together an easy checklist to help make your transition from rental seeker to happy tenant as fun and fuss free as possible.

Regularly search rental listings
Make time to look at rental property listings online. Refining your search by street, bedrooms, bathrooms and other keywords will give you a good idea of what’s available and what you’ll be paying when you find your dream property.
Relax your criteria and include surrounding suburbs – that great new home could be only a fraction further away. You might discover the dream area you didn’t even know existed.
Always be on alert
Sign up for our immediate, daily or weekly rental property email alerts and we’ll send you everything that matches your search criteria. You can be as general or as specific as you like, including the suburb, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, car spaces, what kind of garden and price you want.
Establish a good relationship with your agents
When you’re searching for a rental property, it’s a good idea to talk to different agents in your desired area and make sure they have your name on their books.
That way, when the perfect place for you becomes available, you’re already one step ahead.
If you see a property you like, shoot them an email enquiry or pick up the phone and call to let them know you’re keen.
Save open for inspection times
Plan your weekend searches ahead so you don’t miss out. Select individual properties or look at the Open for Inspection button at the top of the search results and simply save to your electronic calendar. At the click of a button, you’ll save all the necessary info like times, addresses and dates along with the link to the property you’re interested in, direct to your calendar. It’s quick, easy and convenient.

Plan your weekend searches so you don’t miss out.
Map your route
Rental inspections times are very specific, so it pays to be a savvy navigator. If you miss the boat, you’ll be stuck.
Follow these steps to confidently transition from a rental seeker to a happy tenant. Best of luck on your journey to finding your dream home!
